Increased membership, interesting educational and fun social meetings. Promotion and education of the Honey Bee industry at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and at Kortright Centre for Conservation. At our November 14th Social & Auction, Paul Kelly, from University of Guelph spoke about newly approved (thanks to Canadian Honey Council and Ontario Beekeepers Assoc.) Oxalic Acid mite control. The evening was enjoyed by all. Thanks go out to members who brought all the tasty food, and to those who donated items to the auction. Morley Batt moved the auction along to a total of $ 543.00 and Julia Van Heerdan's culinary delights generated $ 142.00. It was a great night! Thanks to Carmen and Jimmy Pisani for tea, coffee and sweets, we all enjoy at our meetings throughout the year. The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair Honey booth created a great deal of Public interest plus $ 1,700.00 for the TDBA after expenses. Some 35,000 + school children enjoyed Paul Kelly's observation hive and learned about Bees, Bee products and the Bee industry. Promoting our industry and hobby was fun and profitable thanks to our many volunteers who gave up their time to be there we could not have done it without you!
